In a sudden development this evening BJP had announced that it will form Government in GOA,announcing it’s CM Candidate as Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.

BJP had managed to win only 13 seats in the recent election,while 21 is the Magic Figure to form the Govt,However as per the reports BJP had managed to win the figure by getting support from Various Parties Goa Forward Party (GFP) and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) which won three seats each along with two independent candidates

Reportedly BJP MLAs from Goa has also written to the party high-command requesting to make the Union Minister Manohar Parrikar the Chief Minister of the state.Earlier ANI News had also confirmed that Manohar Parrikar with BJP MLAs, 3 MGP MLAs,3 Goa Forward Party MLAs& 3 other Independent MLAs met Goa Guv & staked claim to form government.

Addressing a Media Conference this evening Union Minister Nithin Gadkari had said that MGP,GFP said during our discussions that if Manohar Parrikar becomes Goa CM candidate, then we will support,however he had also said that Manohar Parrikar had to resign for his Union Ministry before becoming CM,which he hadn’t given yet.

61 Year Old Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar served as the Chief Minister of Goa, first from 2000 to 2005 and later from March 2012 to November 2014,following which he was resigned for the CM post for being inducted into Union Ministry.
